Voices That Drive Our Mission Forward

For 65 years, Fellowship Square has been powered by people who believe in affordable housing and dignity for older adults. Hear directly from two long‑time supporters whose commitment continues to move our mission forward.

Dr. C. David Hartmann

Board Member, Volunteer & Advocate for Over 50 Years

Dr. C. David Hartmann reflects on more than five decades of service to Fellowship Square, from its early days alongside founder Rev. Dr. John A. Scherzer to the expansion of communities like Hunters Woods, Lake Ridge, and Largo Landing. His story is one of perseverance, innovation, and an unwavering belief that seniors with limited means deserve safe housing and compassionate support.

“We cared and we prevailed. We stuck with it and found ways to do things that hadn’t been done before—because our community’s seniors need help.”

Kathleen Harding

Supporter, Board President, Former Employee & Volunteer Since 1985

Kathleen Harding’s Fellowship Square journey spans nearly four decades and multiple roles—employee, Service Coordinator, Board member, President, and volunteer. From her early days at Lake Ridge Fellowship House to her leadership on the Board, Kathleen’s story reflects deep commitment, empathy for residents, and a belief that seniors who spent their lives serving others deserve safety, dignity, and stability.

“There are incredibly impressive people living at Fellowship House who have done so much for their communities. I’m proud that we can provide them with a safe, secure home.”
